Our special guest today was Bill Hart French an Interior/Domestic design practitioner and an Actors Headshot Photographer. Bill was very kind to drop by to pass on his experience with Bathroom and Kitchen Interior design practises through time. He was also informative about the standards that are currently in operation today.
Bill went on to say that when considering an approach in home building, the designers would adopt the Live Time Home Guidelines‘. This standard looks at building a home and take into the design process that the new owners will be looking to have in their home until they pass away. Where the appliances must be able to fulfil the needs of a person from the time they buy the property to the time they reach very old age. Also spacing must look at when a person is older they will not be able to slide through small spaces and restriction that some homes have including steep steps.
Other design practices currently in use when building a mass produced property is the usage of bathroom pods that are just drop in and connected to waste, heating and running water.
We were also very delighted to hear about Bill’s latest project and have a brief talk about designing, researching and executing the project with a set of Formal studio portraits and a literary account of their lift.
